Conventional CMOS-based very large-scale integrated-circuit (VLSI) systems, while functioning as human-like “brains” based on electronic devices/circuits that support a super smart society (called Society 5.0), have already reached their physical limits. Our goal is to break through the limitations of conventional VLSI technologies and to realize high-level information processing that surpasses even the human brain through “new paradigm” of novel VLSI system architecture and its circuit style such as nonvolatile logic.
