Creation of terahertz functional devices utilizing novel materials and principles, and their ICT applications

We aim to create transistor-based terahertz-wave solid-state lasers, detectors, and frequency converters based on new operating principles using two-dimensional plasmon resonance in semiconductor heterojunction as well as graphene-based two-dimensional heterojunction materials.
Furthermore, by applying these world-leading ultra-broadband devices and circuits, we are developing next-generation 6G and 7G ultra-high-speed wireless communications and new measurement technologies for resilient and sustainable future smart societies.
