We are researching highly functional semiconductor optical devices based on semiconductor lasers and semiconductor optical modulators, as well as new functional semiconductor photonic integrated circuits. By realizing semiconductor photonic devices and photonic integrated circuits that can freely manipulate the intensity, phase, frequency, and polarization of light, we aim to realize ultra-high capacity and ultra-long distance optical communication networks. We also aim to create semiconductor photonic functional devices based on new principles in order to innovate optical information and communication network systems from the device level.
